01 — About

A developer who likes to see how the whole system fits together.

My work so far has covered the full stack of a technology organisation: writing backend services, testing and supporting live government systems, training the people who use them, and now looking after enterprise infrastructure. I enjoy the moments where those layers meet: where a clean API makes a support call unnecessary, or where a user's confusion reveals a bug.

I'm currently at ZESCO as part of the Women in STEM Programme, sponsored by the World Bank under the Tanzania–Zambia Interconnector Project, for which women graduates were selected on the basis of a Merit or Distinction.

I also design and build websites for businesses and individuals, from the first sketch to a live domain. My biggest so far, The Clay Pot's ordering and operations system, is in production and used by a restaurant's customers and staff every day.

Outside of work I'm active in Zambia's tech community as a member of ICTAZ, the UNZA Computer Science Society and Inspire Her Zambia, and I served as ICTAZ UNZA Chapter's Publicity Secretary for the 2024–2025 term.

The Clay Pot: Matebeto, Grill & Bar

A complete ordering and operations system for a restaurant on Lake Road, Lusaka. Customers browse the menu, order ahead for dine-in or takeaway, and track their order. Staff run the whole floor from one dashboard.

Engineering: a Go REST API (chi + GORM) with bcrypt auth, PostgreSQL on Supabase, deployed on Render, with weekly automated database backups via GitHub Actions. When the original database host locked the project over usage, I migrated it to Supabase without downtime and cut polling traffic with lightweight version checks.

For customers

  • Menu & drinks with live availability
  • Cart, order-ahead checkout & arrival window
  • Order tracking by phone, printable receipts
  • Photo gallery & QR code menu for tables

For staff

  • Secure login with a full order lifecycle
  • Stock control that deducts ingredients by recipe
  • Instant WhatsApp alert for every new order
  • Self-service menu, gallery, site & staff accounts
